What is our strategy and how will we add value?

The team at Haywood Dorland Energy Capital is implementing the following strategy: Investment in a number of portfolio companies to achieve superior, risk- adjusted returns for our investors. These portfolio companies will include corporations, projects and joint ventures. Returns to our investors at Haywood Dorland will come from operating cash flows at our portfolio companies, selective monetization of assets and well planned exit strategies over the next five to ten years. The following tactics will support our strategy:

1. Formation of a strong advisory board with leaders that we can call upon to offer us guidance and assistance as we face inevitable challenges.
2. Hiring of additional members of our team who are able to identify and execute transactions that lead to enhanced returns for our investors.
3. Active risk management by being selective among transactions, following internal risk guidelines and knowing clearly what investments we won't make and why.
4. Fostering an environment of intellectual honesty that will always supersede corporate titles.
5. Showing leadership in all of our activities to become the "go to firm" for new opportunities.
6. Hiring or supporting the best management teams that we can find for the businesses that we are involved in.
7. Strictly control expenses to enhance returns and share, as a team, in the upside of our investments while also facing the same downside risks as our investors.
8. Finding investments that have complementary strategic potential, rather than simply making a series of isolated, one-time investments.
9. Leverage our vast base of relationships formed through the Worldwide Renewable Energy Finance Association.
