Steven R. Pottle - Managing Member and Founder

Steven Pottle brings to Haywood Dorland nearly 25 years of structured finance and investment banking experience within all sectors of the energy industry. He has held senior level energy positions at some of the world’s leading financial institutions, including UBS Investment Bank, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, Commerzbank and HSH Nordbank.

Mr. Pottle also served as the Vice President of Business Planning at Sithe Energies, at one time, the largest independent power producer in the United States. Sithe was a leader in developing hydroelectric and gas fired power plants. Mr. Pottle has participated in, structured and / or led hundreds of project and corporate energy transactions over the course of his career.  He has held a Series 7 securities license during various parts of his career. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

 

Bryan Butler - Associate

Mr. Butler joined Haywood Dorland in September 2009. Prior to joining the team, Bryan worked at Lux Research within the Alternative Power and Energy Storage Group. There he authored a report uncovering the investment trends in the alternative power and energy storage sector and evaluating the sector's financial outlook. Previously, Bryan was a senior analyst at Cinium Partners, a boutique private equity firm. Before joining Cinium Partners, Bryan was a consultant to UBS Investment Bank where he was responsible for underwriting and due diligence of various real estate acquisitions and refinancings. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Masters degree from Cornell University.

Tobias Lunt - Analyst

Mr. Lunt has worked as a Sustainability Consultant in New York City, where he performed in-depth greenhouse gas modeling, developed energy efficiency initiatives for large Manhattan buildings including the Time Warner Center, and guided construction projects toward LEED certification.  While earning his undergraduate degree, he worked with developmental biomass technology at the USDA Western Regional Research Center, creating transportation fuel from municipal solid waste.  He is interested in cellulosic ethanol, energy storage, energy efficiency and emerging markets.  He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Environmental Economics from Dartmouth College.
