About Haywood Dorland Energy Capital, LLC HDEC was formed in Mid-2008 by Steven R. Pottle. Pottle has been an energy structured / project finance professional on Wall Street for much of his 25 year career. The major firms where he previously held positions were UBS (NY, Dallas and Los Angeles offices), Mizhuo, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell (now Deutsche Bank Securities), Commerzbank and HSH Nordbank. He has financed a very large number of energy projects including natural gas pipelines, refined products terminals, thermal power plants, transmission lines, hydroelectric plants (monitored these projects while at Sithe Energies, Inc.), landfill gas facilities and LNG fractionation plants, among others. The team that the firm has assembled is very strong and is made up of people with attractive backgrounds in energy, private equity and la w. We expect to continue to build the team through 2010. The sectors that we focus on include solar, wind, biomass and clean tech. Steve Pottle is also the founder of the Worldwide Renewable Energy Finance Association ("WREFA"), a global, professional networking organization working to bring together energy finance professionals and renewable energy companies around the world.
